Ahead of the San Marino Grand Prix weekend, Yamaha rider and MotoGP legend, Valentino Rossi was asked about Lando Norris. Norris and Red Bull driver Alex Albon are massive fans of Rossi, and the McLaren driver was not afraid to show his devotion. Seated alongside Andrea Dovizioso, Marc Marquez and Alex Rins, Rossi spoke about the young Briton.

When Formula One arrived at Monza last weekend, Norris sported plenty of Valentino Rossi merchandise. He also changed his helmet and wore Rossi-themed boots, along with a bucket hat.

Rossi admitted, “I’m very happy and very proud, for me it’s an honour because at the beginning of the season, arrived new drivers like Lando and also Albon. They said they grew up following MotoGP and following me so they are my fans. It’s something good I like the feeling, Lando did a great job so it was a great pleasure. Now we swap helmets as soon as possible. I met Lando at Silverstone, he’s a very good guy and he very young because he’s 19 but he’s already very clever and looks like he has a lot more experience than his age so I’m also his fan.”

Needless to say, Lando Norris was almost squealing with absolute glee to see his idol speak so highly of him. Valentino Rossi is a 9-time MotoGP world champion and to this day, he is still competing. Sadly, the Yamaha has not been as fast as the Honda or the Ducati, and even Suzuki is becoming a threat.

Meanwhile, Formula One will be heading to Singapore for the Grand Prix next weekend. Lando Norris and teammate Carlos Sainz will be aiming to be the best of the rest at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. So far, McLaren have slowly and steadily be rising up the order, hoping to get back to the front of the pack, where they used to be.
