LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers fell short by just two points in their matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday. Despite Anthony Davis and LBJ’s joint 59-point effort, Anthony Davis’ brilliance took the upper hand. The Lakers now stand 9th in the Western Conference with 17 wins and 16 losses. Despite the harsh loss on King James’ birthday, fans are riled up about another thing altogether.

In a crucial moment, James sank a game-tying three-pointer. Still, it was ruled as a two-pointer by presiding referee Tony Brothers. Many called the decision questionable, yet it sealed the Laker’s fate. However, in a recently resurfaced video, Brothers is seen making scathing admission about his feelings towards the game of basketball!

On X(Formerly known as Twitter) a user named ‘tayö’ posted a clip from an old interview with Tony Brothers. The post was captioned, This the dude the NBA got referring games. Tony brothers doesn’t care about basketball and he’s obsessed with power and control.” In the clip, Brothers admits his true feelings towards the game of basketball as he says, “I don’t even really care too much for basketball. In the sense of, I’m not a fan.”

He further stated that he got to know of the NBA when he started referring to games. Brothers had initially wanted to be a judge but failed to get through two schools he applied to through his mother’s contacts. He ended up consulting, which finally landed him a job as a referee for the NBA.
Despite the heavy loss at the hands of the Timberwolves, LeBron James has no time to rest as he has another game against the Pelicans right after.

LBJ was quite understandably upset after the loss on his 39th birthday and didn’t appear to be in good spirits after the game. “I didn’t get out of bed till 4:30. So that’s super unlike me…. I feel like sh*t right now,” said Bron about his health after the loss to Minnesota.
