The ‘Egyptian King’ enjoyed an amazing debut season in the Premier League for the Reds. His performance has been so great that he has a great chance of winning the 2018 Ballon d?Or.
Sadly, the Stoke match was not among those famous Salah performances.? Five minutes after kick off, Salah missed a chance for Liverpool against the Potters.
Salah was under investigation for the incident but reports have emerged that he has avoided any punishment.
There are two likely explanations that worked in Salah’s favour. Firstly, Salah merely swung out at Bruno Martins Indi. The operative factor here was that the fist never made contact.
Secondly, during a match between West Brom and Liverpool, Ahmed Hegazi got away with a clear punch on Danny Ings.
Under normal circumstances, Hegazi would have been facing a three-match ban and be out for the remainder of the season.
The incident occurred in the second-half of the 2-2 draw between the 2 sides. Hegazi and Ings tangled on the turf and Hegazi was caught punching the striker in the stomach.
Unfortunately, the referee?
Stuart Atwell?failed to see the incident and referred the matter to the FA?s disciplinary panel. The panel did not reach a unanimous verdict because one of the members found Hegazi not guilty of violent conduct. Hegazi will be available to play in West Brom?s final three games against Newcastle, Tottenham and?Crystal Palace?respectively.
He appeared completely relaxed in the game, despite having clawed at fellow countryman Mohamed Salah?s face after the Ings episode.
