Dana White and the UFC didn’t have to go through the same COVID-19 slump that the rest of the sports world saw. Aside from losing a few weeks of events, Dana has kept the ship steady and has been putting on fights regularly.

However, there were many names touted for returns to the UFC in 2020 which we didn’t see. One of the biggest names was Brock Lesnar returning to the UFC, a question that has been open ever since UFC 200.

Dana sat down with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated and tackled this question of whether Brock Lesnar will return to the UFC head-on.

“I don’t think Lesnar would come back again. Lesnar’s made a lot of money, and with his age and everything else, I just don’t see it happening. What’s a massive fight, if it ends up happening, is Adesanya versus Jones. I think that is more likely [than Lesnar-Jones].

“I always say fighting is a young man’s game. Brock came in here when nobody f—— thought he could, and look what he did. He became the Heavyweight Champion. He’s accomplished everything you need to accomplish.

“To come back and fight Jones, it would be all about the money, and money is one thing that guy doesn’t need.”

Dana White booking Brock Lesnar again?

No. We can have the question come up as often as we want, but Brock Lesnar’s UFC career is most a thing of the past. It is no secret that strict USADA regulations have been one of the major reasons why Lesnar had to leave the UFC.

The controversial drug tests after his win over Mark Hunt have forever clouded his legacy.

While Lesnar is a known prize-fighter, and he will come back if an astronomical sum of money is on the table. But it just doesn’t look likely in this case. Lesnar is entering his mid-40s, and like Dana said, fighting is a young man’s game.

While Lesnar may have something to offer still, it isn’t at the championship level. And the former UFC Heavyweight Champion definitely has more than enough money to his name already.

The likelihood of Brock Lesnar returning to the UFC Octagon and going through a training camp for a high-level opponent like Jon Jones or Francis Ngannou just won’t happen. But the speculation does get us excited.
