An epic bantamweight clash between TJ Dillashaw and Cory Sandhagen will headline UFC Vegas 32. The co-main event also featured an epic clash in the women’s bantamweight division between Macy Chiasson and Aspen Ladd. However, to the dismay of fight fans, the fight had to be withdrawn from the fight card as Chiasson pulled out of the fight.
At the time it was not clear as to why Chiasson pulled out of the fight. However, the American fighter has offered clarity on the situation with her recent Instagram post.
She said, “Hey guys I went into this fight with a stress fracture in my foot from camp. Should have been in a boot instead but was feeling good with it wrapped up. I then re-injured it last night working out before my cut, I can hardly walk at all much less fight. I just want to say I am so sorry and I was never more ready in my life for this fight. Unfortunately, this happens in sports. I really want everyone to see how great I’m fighting. I’m really hoping it will get rebooked for a later date. We have worked too hard for this. I just want to thank the @ufc and @mickmaynard for everything you do for us and for this opportunity”

Chiasson further revealed that she had the injury all throughout training camp and just powered through it. However, during the final training session before the fight, the injury was aggravated and it severely compromised her movement forcing her to pull out of the fight.

Should Macy Chiasson vs Aspen Ladd be rebooked?
Chiasson shared an update on her injury but did not specify her timeline for recovery or how long she will be out. However, she did mention that she wanted to re-book the fight with Ladd. The sentiment is not reciprocated from the other end, unfortunately. Ladd called out the likes of Miesha Tate as soon as her fight against Chiasson was called off and it looks like she has her eyes set elsewhere.
@macychiasson has pulled out on weigh in Eve. This absolutely blows. Who wants to see me fight @mieshatate ? @bokamotoespn @mmajunkiedotcom @theschmo312 @lynchonsports @kbheat @espn @ufc @ufcnewsalerts @mickmaynard2 @danawhite pic.twitter.com/J3mWVIHpqH

Chiasson is currently on a two-fight win streak. Ladd just bounced back to the win column with a win over Yana Kunitskaya. However, that fight took place in December 2019 and Ladd has been out of action ever since. Therefore, she will not be too interested in waiting around for too long for Chiasson given she has been out of action for over a year and a half.
