As ONE Championship nears its finals, UFC legend Conor McGregor has already chosen his favorite to win. The Irish fighter sent his support to the Indian nation and its fighters, who are still trying to make their name in the MMA world.
Notably, Indian MMA fighter Ritu Phogat has sailed her way to the ONE Championships finals; and now, she even has backing from the legendary, McGregor.ADVERTISEMENT

Conor McGregor heaped tweets to support India
India is still an emerging nation in combat sports; however, the potential of Indian fighters is incredible. Even UFC legend, Conor McGregor, sees that, as he praised Indian fighter Ritu Phogat, who is soon going to compete in the ONE Championship finals.
Conor said, “Rooting for the Indians to make a stamp in this game soon! Quite very possibly the most respectful and caring nationality I’ve ever met in my life, the Indians. Let’s go India”

Ranked 24 in the World, Ritu Phogat, was delighted to receive wishes from McGregor ahead of the match. Ritu thanked Conor for his motivating words and invited him to visit India.

The UFC’s first simultaneous two-division champion has been training to make a comeback after his injury. Popularly known as ‘The Notorious‘, Conor showcased his love for the Indian nation on their auspicious festival ‘Diwali’, in a plethora of tweets.

Ritu Phogat vs Stamp Fairtex
Ritu Phogat will clash with Thailand’s Stamp Fairtex on December 3. Whoever clinches the Atomweight Grand Pix Final will challenge former champion, Angela Lee, to claim the title in 2022.

In the history of ONE Championship, no Indian has ever clinched the title. Although Indian origin Arjan Bhullar had won the title, he is a Canadian.
