Khamzat Chimaev is four fights into his UFC career. During that time, ‘Borz’ has never gone the distance in any of his fights in the promotion and has absorbed a grand total of 2 strikes. He has out struck his opponents 254-2 in total strikes thrown in his first four fights. No one in the UFC thus far has been as dominant as ‘Borz’ after their first four fights.

Therefore, it is only natural that the Chechen-born fighter is now an enormous star in the UFC. It is no secret that the UFC is trying to book a fight between long-time UFC veteran Nate Diaz and rising star Khamzat Chimaev. Diaz has only one fight left in his UFC contract and has no interest in facing a rookie in the promotion. He has made it abundantly clear multiple times.

After Diaz’s recent comments on the fight in an interview, Chimaev took to Twitter to hit back at the Stockton native. He said, “You fake gangster @Nate Diaz209 and I don’t care who to fight i’m coming for everybody, where are you all the gangsters and kings? I’m here to kill everyone i’m the king here i’m a gangster here.”

Borz’ continued, “you are the easiest money for me thin @NateDiaz209.”

Nate Diaz vs Khamzat Chimaev- a fight that makes sense?

The common consensus among both UFC fans and pundits alike is that the UFC is trying to use an established star in Nate Diaz to build up Khamzat Chimaev. Given Diaz has lost three of his last four fights, it is safe to say that a fight against Chimaev is not a favorable matchup for him.

Diaz is adamant that he wants to fight a top 10 or a top 5 fighter. At this point in time, it is not clear if the UFC and Nate Diaz will continue to work together with a contract extension.

Another possibility for Diaz would be to wait it out till Conor McGregor is fit and fight ‘The Notorious’ in a trilogy for the final fight in his current contract.
