‘El Cucuy’s workout videos often feature him doing exercises that other fighters may not do. From dancing around with a football in his hand to throwing around a plyometric block in jeans and a T-shirt for active rest. Ferguson truly has his own way of doing things inside and outside the octagon.

Tony Ferguson is staying ready for a fight

Tony Ferguson recently posted a video on Twitter that showed him practicing his boxing, kicks, and knees. The caption said, “Moar Hype Lil’ Lyte Work On A Cool Down Round. Feelin’ Sharper Than The Edge Of A Frosted Donut. B# Ready. Mi Gente-Champ-CSO #KaChow #StillCan’tBox”

Tony Ferguson has always been in and around the title picture at lightweight. However, he has never realized his ultimate dream in the sport. The closest he came was when he won the interim title against Kevin Lee.

Most recently Tony was matched up against Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight belt at UFC 249. ‘El Cucuy’ was stopped in the final round of the fight as a clinical Justin piled on the damage throughout the bout. Since then Justin has secured a title fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Tony doesn’t have a fight scheduled anytime soon.

There were reports surfacing that Tony was set to fight Dustin Poirier at UFC 254 as the co-main event. However, ‘The Diamond’ and the UFC could not come to a financial agreement regarding the fight thus scuppering the potential blockbuster. The possibility of a fight with Michael Chandler fell through when Dana White confirmed the former Bellator MMA champion would be the backup for the UFC 254 main event.

With Tony Ferguson one thing is for sure, fight or not, Tony always stays ready. MMA fans will be hoping to see him return to the octagon as soon as possible.
