Khabib Nurmagomedov and his team have been based in Las Vegas for the past few weeks now. ‘The Eagle’ stayed in Vegas to oversee the last few days of training camp for his teammate and friend Islam Makhachev, who competed at UFC 259.
Makhachev put on a fantastic performance as he dominated Drew Dober for three rounds and then got an impressive arm-triangle submission win. He has since put the lightweight division on notice.
‘The Eagle’ has now shifted his focus on the camps of the rest of his teammates as his younger cousin, Usman Nurmagomedov, makes his Bellator debut in a few weeks’ time. The camp had an unexpected visitor when the ‘King of Cringe’ stopped by to grace everyone with his presence.

Khabib Nurmagomedov in contention for coach of the year?
Khabib has always been the leader of his team. He has always led from the front and by example as he aims to guide a host of promising talent from his stable to the pinnacle of the sport. Ever since retiring from active competition, Nurmagomedov has focused more on the surrounding talent.

Earlier this year, he cornered his relative, Umar Nurmagomedov, as he made an impressive UFC debut against Sergey Morozov. Islam was next as he secured an impressive win under the able guidance of Khabib and coach Javier Mendez.
‘The Eagle’ also has other impressive fighters under him, such as Abubakar and Usman Nurmagomedov, who fight later this month. There is no doubt that having a leader and coach who has made it to the very top of the sport can only be a source of motivation for the people training in and around him.
