In the recent UFC 262 press conference, John Morgan asked Dana White if either main event fighter had anything to prove in the wake of Nurmagomedov’s retirement.
Ferguson, who will fight in the co-headliner, took it upon himself to answer the question. He said, “He’s a f***ing b**ch. He’s a f***ing p***y. Sorry to interrupt you. I’m going to dedicate this f***ing song called mask off. Chase a check. Never chase a b**ch that’s Khabib.”Tony Ferguson is currently on a two-fight skid. After tearing through the lightweight division and amassing an impressive 12-fight win streak. Justin Gaethje and Charles Oliveira both secured dominant victories over Ferguson that prompted fans and pundits alike to believe that Ferguson is ‘finished’.

If Ferguson fails to win his fight this weekend against Dariush, his future in the UFC will be extremely uncertain. However, if Ferguson can secure a win against a red-hot Dariush, he will not only prove the doubters wrong, but he will place be in the reckoning for a UFC title shot.

Nurmagomedov has stated multiple times that for his legacy he needed to fight Ferguson. Hence, if ‘El Cucuy’ can put together a few impressive wins, it might tempt ‘The Eagle’ to give the fight a sixth chance.
