Kevin Holland had a stellar 2020. ‘Trailblazer’ secured five wins in 2020, of which four were knockout wins. His personality, along with his knockout ability and the fact that he fought so often all combined to make him a fan favorite with the promotion in no time. However, 2021 was not as good for Holland as he competed thrice, but failed to secure a single win.
In recent interviews, Holland has stated that he would return to the octagon soon. However, this time around, he would opt for a more favorable matchup. Recent reports suggest that Holland has been given exactly what he has asked for.

Kevin Holland to start 2022 with a win?
In his last three fights, Holland was matched up unfavorably. He went up against dominant wrestlers such as Derek Brunson, and Marvin Vettori.
Although Holland has taken steps to improve his biggest weakness (wrestling), that is not a skill that can be acquired in a few months; especially when the opponents he faces have been wrestling for a longer period of time.

However, in Alex Oliveira, he faces someone who is primarily a striker but also has excellent Jiu-Jitsu as well. ‘Cowboy’ (22-11), who has secured an impressive 55% of his wins via T/KO, will be looking to add to that tally against Holland.
‘Trailblazer’ will go into the fight with a sizeable height advantage and a whopping five-inch reach advantage. It will be interesting to see if Holland can bounce back into the win column against a fighter who is currently on a three-fight skid and has lost six of his last eight fights.
