UFC middleweight champion and one of the best fighters in the world, Israel Adesanya, will lock horns with a rampaging Marvin Vettori at UFC 263. The titular clash will be their second bout after the first match culminated with a win for Adesanya.
Both have come a long way since their first bout, having only gathered victories in the division. There aren’t many fighters who can stand up and boast of their performance in front of Adesanya, and Vettori comes under those few who can. After all, he came close to handing Adesanya a loss in the division.

Recently, the rivals appeared in the same interview, which was conducted by fellow former fighter Michael Bisping. Both traded heavy blows in a verbal spat that also included some hilarious moments.
‘The Count’ posed a question in front of Adesanya about his reaction of fighting in a 5 round affair compared to the three rounds they fought last time around.
‘The Last Stylebender’, in his trademark style, pointed at his strengths and the perceived weakness of his opponent. “I will tell you one thing,” he said. “See these nostrils (points at his nostrils). They have taken all the oxygen in the room. I don’t get tired at all. Not once.
“He (pointing to Vettori) starts mouth breathing at the end of first round (hilariously imitates). He starts mouth breathing at the end of first round. I have never seen this,” he added.
Bisping then asked Vettori what it will be like winning the championship. ‘The Italian Dream’ told him it’s his destiny to win the belt and Adesanya can’t stop him from achieving his dream.

How both Israel Adesanya and Vettori are entering their bout?
Adesanya (20-1) is the undefeated fighter in the middleweight division. He has thrashed aside every challenge put in front of him. But he finally met his match when he fought against light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz in his quest to become dual division champion.
He came short at UFC 259 via unanimous decision loss that ended his 20 fight undefeated streak. He is again back to his conquered division but would want to erase the faulty memories of his last fight.

Vettori, meanwhile, has only gained strength since their last meeting and is currently entering the title fight on the back of 5 fight win streak.
He would definitely bring his ‘A’ game into the fight and chase his ultimate dream, i.e. to become the first ever Italian born UFC champion.
