The main event at UFC Vegas 30 featured a heavyweight clash between two of the best in the division. Promising talent Ciryl Gane took on a veteran in Alexander Volkov. ‘Bon Gamin’ is just five fights into his UFC career and has garnered a lot of attention with his performances. He is undefeated thus far and will be aiming to continue that as he faces perhaps his biggest test to date. 

Volkov, on the other hand, is a veteran of the sport with vast experience in both kickboxing and MMA. He is currently on a two-fight win streak and a win over a promising talent in ‘Bon Gamin’ would put him one step closer to a title shot.

Ciryl Gane puts on a clinical display against Alexander Volkov

The first round started off well for both men. ‘Bon Gamin’ and ‘Drago’ threw plenty of leg kicks in round one in a bid to hamper their opponent’s movement. However, it was Volkov who was the more active of the two fighters. In round two, ‘Bon Gamin’ found his rhythm. He landed a bunch of good combinations that found their target more often than not.

The Frenchmen grew in confidence in round three as he started mixing in kicks along with his strikes. He landed an impressive 21 total strikes and 20 significant strikes in round 3. Gane picked up the pace as the fight went on and was able to showcase his striking arsenal against an extremely technically gifted fighter in Volkov. The Frenchman was able to secure a unanimous decision win over Volkov and maintain his unbeaten streak he is now 9-0 as a professional.
