What’s next for Valentina Shevchenko

Shevchenko arguably one of the most dominant champions in the UFC today. In her 5 years with the UFC thus far, she has faced the best women in two divisions. She started her UFC career in the Bantamweight division. Her only two losses at bantamweight were against the best female fighter to ever do it, Amanda Nunes.

After coming up short against Nunes at UFC 215, Shevchenko moved back down to Flyweight. Since her return to flyweight, she won the vacant flyweight belt against Joanna Jedrzejczyk and then went on to defend it three times.

However, in Jennifer Maia, she faces someone who is coming off an impressive submission win over Joanne Calderwood. Jennifer is a tough fighter and will be a real test for Valentina’s as she aims to make her fourth title defense as the flyweight queen.

If Valentina were to get past Maia, should the UFC should set up a re-match between Nunes and Shevchenko?
