UFC Vegas 35 takes place on August 28th. A featherweight clash between Giga Chikadze and Edson Barboza will headline the fight card. However, the UFC has also made sure that they have stacked the rest of the fight card with interesting fights.
Unfortunately for fight fans, over the past few hours, not one but three fights have been pulled from the fight card. Former UFC title challenger and Olympic silver medalist Sara McMann pulled out of her fight against Vieira because of a reinjury.
McMann expressed her disappointment on Instagram as she shared with fans that she would not be able to make it to the fight. The 40-year-old said, “The worst part is that I was so healthy and having a really great camp. I know I’ll keep the gains I’ve made, but I was really hoping to get the reward for all of the work I’ve put in the last few months”

Aliaskhab Khizriev was forced out of his fight against Alessio Di Chirico because of an undisclosed injury. Furthermore, Mario Bautista was forced out of his bout against Guido Cannetti due to a positive COVID-19 test.
Fights to watch out for at UFC Vegas 35
Despite the cancelations, there are a host of fights to look forward to next weekend. The main event, needless to say, will be a fight between two of the best strikers at 145-pounds in the UFC. Both men are at extremely different points in their respective careers.
The card also features Kevin Lee’s return to welterweight against Daniel Rodriguez. Earlier, ‘The Motown Phenom’ was supposed to take on promising talent Sean Brady at UFC 264.

Further down the card, promising middleweight Makhmud Muradov will fight Gerald Meerschaert in an epic clash. ‘Mach’, currently on a 14-fight win streak, is also 3-0 in the UFC and is slowly making his case as a force to be reckoned with at 185-pounds. Hence, Meerschaert will be an excellent litmus test for the 31-year-old.
