Petroski has cut his teeth in different local promotions before finding an opportunity to apply his trade in the biggest MMA promotional house. He last fought against Aaron Jeffery at LFA 93 and lost via TKO. He currently has picked up 5 wins and incurred one loss. Petroski has picked up 3 wins via KO/TKO and 2 via submissions.

Gillmore, just like Petroski, will make his UFC event debut. He too has cut his teeth in other promotions before finding his way to UFC. He has so far picked up 6 wins and incurred 3 losses. Out of those 6, 3 have come via KO/TKO and 3 via decisions.

There is a reason Gillmore has featured in this card and that has to do with TUF. Team Ortega Middleweight Miles Hunsinger tore his MCL while preparing for his quarterfinal clash with Gilbert Urbina. He wisely withdrew from the fight and thus avoided the risk of serious injury after watching his limited movements.

UFC supremo Dana White just accused Hunsinger of walking out because he couldn’t handle the little pain and thus brought in Gillmore. The latter impressed the boss by claiming that he quit his job to pursue mixed martial arts.

In the fight against Urbina, Gillmore got taken down the canvas and submitted quickly. Thus, from the looks of it, his ground game is pretty weak. The other indicator of this is the three submission losses prior to the loss against Urbina.

While this hint should be enough for Petroski to target him, his limited gas tank could prove a hurdle in his path towards glory. But Gillmore’s canvas game is so weak that if Petroski stands fresh, he could take him out easy. Petroski can dominate him with some strikes and look for a takedown to make him tap with submissions.

Final Prediction: Petroski by first-round submission
