UFC 261 is the first time in over a year that fans will be allowed inside an arena in full capacity. To celebrate this, the UFC has ensured that the fight card is stacked from the very first fight on the preliminary card all the way to the main card, with three titles on the line.

On the preliminary card in the welterweight division, Dwight Grant takes on Stefan Sekulic in a three-round fight. Both men are coming off losses in their recent outings and will be aiming to get back into the win column in front of a packed crowd.

Dwight Grant vs Stefan Sekulic promises to be an exciting fight at UFC 261

Dwight Grant made his UFC debut on Dana White’s Contender Series in June 2018 with a knockout win over Tyler Hill. He is 2-1 in his last three fights, having lost his most recent fight to Daniel Rodriguez via knockout in August 2020. He will be aiming to fix that this weekend.

Stefan Sekulic made his UFC debut in September 2018 as he succumbed to a loss against Ramazan Emeev. He has since not competed in the UFC and has been out of action for close to three years.

The Body Snatcher’ as he is rightfully known has secured 70% of his UFC wins via T/KO. He has landed an impressive 2.25 significant strikes per minute in his UFC career. However, his defense is a bit leaky, and he absorbs 2.85 significant strikes per minute, which could be his downfall.

Meanwhile, Sekulic has secured half of his wins via submission. He has landed an impressive 1.47 significant strikes per minute in his UFC career while absorbing 2.4 in return. In the grappling department, he has averaged 1 takedown per 15 minutes with an accuracy of 20% in his UFC career.

Sekulic’s best chance to win the fight will be to get the fight to the ground and secure a submission. It will be easier said than done, as Grant has an 83% takedown defense rate. If the fight remains on the feet, Grant will surely take the win as he is a far superior striker with one-punch knockout power.

Prediction: Dwight Grant via T/KO
