Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov headlined UFC 229 on this day two years ago. The fight between ‘The Eagle’ and ‘The Notorious’ was arguably one of the biggest fights in history. It was also one of the most intense rivalries witnessed to date. In the build-up to the fight, the trash talked crossed all lines. Religion, Wife, Children were all bought in, which is not a common occurrence.

Khabib made his first title defense against the biggest name in all of Combat sports. His performance on the night was impeccable, and he dominated ‘The Notorious’ from the start. However, it was what happened after the stoppage that dominated headlines and overshadowed a brilliant performance.
