Recently, ‘El Cucuy’ appeared in an interview with ESPN where he detailed everything about the people who will stand in his corner. “Yup coach (Freddie Roach) will be there too,” he said.
“I have a bunch of trainers and not just one person. Wild card boxing, my peers, shout out to my peers, they all have their fights coming up.
“I’m fighting my a** off for you guys, obviously. You guys have been awesome towards me and likewise vice versa to them.”
He further said his academy team members will be present too. The list doesn’t stop here, Ferguson added, “Coach Greg Nelson, coach Eric Paulson, coach Marty Morgan, and coach Brock Lesnar, these guys have been in contact with me for this fight and a long along (with) more people.”
Ferguson has been training under Roach’s wild card gym for the preparation of the current fight. In addition to Roach, he will have his old college wrestling coach Dave Mills in his corner, as well as longtime 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu training partner and UFC veteran Ben Saunders too.
Earlier, Ferguson got rid of his entire team after suffering 2 losses. He claimed that they weren’t testing him enough, and he was not able to grow. “When you’re the smartest man in the room, you have to basically fire everybody,” he said.

Tony Ferguson says UFC never cared about him
Ferguson took a dig at UFC for not treating him properly, “I can get treated like sh*t that’s how UFC treated for the longest time. I still haven’t got a title fight but I’m still showing up,” he said.

He added further that UFC has taken his title, numbers on the check (low pay). “You are not caring about my family, you are not caring about anything else. This is a joke to everybody,” he said.
Ferguson certainly seems to be fired up for the bout against Dariush. He will be aiming for one last run towards the gold, starting from UFC 262.
