Fan-favorite Tony Ferguson is finally getting back in the octagon. He will be taking on Charles Oliveira at UFC to 256 on December 12. Injuries have plagued the card at UFC 256. However, with the addition of fights such as Deiveson Figueiredo vs Brandon Moreno and Tony Ferguson vs Charles Oliveira, the card looks healthy again.
‘Do Bronx‘ is currently ranked sixth in the lightweight division; ‘El Cucuy‘ is ranked third. The fight against ‘El Cucuy’ will be an excellent opportunity for Charles to showcase his mettle against a top-five opponent. The winner at UFC 256 could be on a fast track to a title shot at 155 pounds.

‘Do Bronx’ continued, “I’m expecting this fight to be a war because we’re both good on the feet and on the ground. We both like to fight, we both move forward. Fans can be sure this is going to be a war, but they can also be sure that when it’s done, my arm will be raised. It’s my moment. I respect Ferguson in every way – he’s tough, a fantastic guy – but now it’s my time.”
Charles goes into the fight against ‘El Cucuy’ on the back of a seven-fight win streak. He has secured ‘Performance of the Night’ bonuses in six of those seven fights. ‘Do Bronx’ is a high-level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and the man in front of him is as good if not better than him.
The fight between the two will be extremely interesting and will answer a lot of questions. Is Tony finished? Can he bounce back at 36? How will Charles fare against a world-class fighter?
