UFC 266 will feature not one but two title fights. Alexander Volkanovski and Valentina Shevchenko will put their belts on the line against Brian Ortega and Lauren Murphy, respectively. The UFC has also stacked the rest of the card with some incredible fights. Unfortunately for fight fans, a strawweight bout between Tatiana Suarez and Roxanne Modafferi has been scrapped from the card. Suarez suffered an injury in training, according to recent reports.
The event will be taking place at The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on 25th September. At this point in time, it is not known if Modafferi will get another opponent for the event or if she will be matched up against Suarez once the latter is fit to fight once again.

Tatiana Suarez’s return delayed once again
Tatiana Suarez is a highly rated talent at 115-pounds. The Ultimate Fighter 23 winner is undefeated in the UFC. Also, she has looked impressive every time she has stepped into a UFC octagon. However, injuries have derailed her progress in the promotion.
Suarez, who won The Ultimate Fighter in July 2016, has only fought four times in the UFC since then. She has secured wins against the likes of Viviane Pereira, Alexa Grasso, Carla Esparza and Nina Ansaroff. Her last fight was in June 2019. She has been out of action since then due to a neck injury.
A return fight against a veteran in Roxanne Modafferi would have been a good test for the 30-year-old. At this point in time, there is no information about the severity of her injury or for how long she will be out of action. Therefore, the promotion will most likely give her a fresh matchup once she is fit to compete again.
