Over the years, ONE Championship has developed into a premier mixed martial arts organization. The Singapore-based promotion is home to some of the best fighters in the world. This includes the likes of Christian Lee, Angela Lee, and Eddie Alvarez, among others.

Like any other promotion, Chatri Sityodtong and his team are constantly on the lookout for new talent to sign. The ONE Championship Instagram page recently put out a post on Instagram with the caption, “Who should Chatri sign to ONE Championship? Nominate yourself or a fighter you know via the link in our bio.”

The comments section was filled with aspiring fighters nominating themselves and a few established fighters nominating their teammates. One particular comment, however, was interesting. It came from former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. The former champion posted a few emojis in the comments section of the very post, sparking rumors of a potential move to another promotion.

A look back at Stipe Miocic’s UFC career

There are no concrete reports of a switch to another promotion for Stipe Miocic. However, there have been instances in the past where former UFC champions have signed with ONE Championship. Therefore, it will not be wise to count out the move completely. 

Miocic has accomplished everything that he possibly could with the UFC. He has established himself as the consensus greatest heavyweight of all time. The Ohio-based fighter has set multiple records in his time in the octagon.

Miocic made his UFC debut in October 2011 with a unanimous decision win over Joey Beltran. He then won his next two fights before succumbing to his first professional loss against Stefan Struve in 2012. Miocic won his belt against Fabricio Werdum at UFC 198 after a jaw-dropping first-round knockout win.

Following that, Stipe defended the belt a record-breaking 3 times against the likes of Alistair Overeem, Francis Ngannou, and Junior dos Santos. After losing his belt to Daniel Cormier at UFC 226, Miocic won their next two fights to seal a win in the most epic trilogy in UFC heavyweight history. In his most recent outing, Miocic lost his belt after Francis Ngannou viciously finished him in round two at UFC 260.
