Russian President Vladimir Putin To Personally Congratulate Khabib Nurmagomedov

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed a desire to meet undisputed lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, post his spectacular win over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. The Eagle announced his retirement from the sport soon after the match in the post-fight interview. The Russian President will personally congratulate the Dagestani, who became the first Russian fighter to top the UFC’s pound-for-pound list this past week.

According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Russian President Vladimir Putin will find time to meet Khabib Nurmagomedov once the pandemic settles down.

“Yes, the president said he will definitely meet Khabib. When the fighter is ready and the pandemic situation won’t be at the peak.” Dmitry Peskov said.
