He said, “Funny thing, I was coming out of the doctor, right after the fight. I went to the doctor to do something, some like checkups. Then I was hungry, I was in L.A., I have never told this story to nobody, just to close friends… Then I found some whole foods around me, then I went there to grab a bite, was me and my wife and guess who was on the Hot Bar getting food- Nate Diaz.”

He then tells Helwani that Diaz glared at him and that he was also ready to fight him regardless of his leg injury. Eventually, nothing happened and both of them just wished each other well and went their way.

“I look at him, he starts sizing me up… I was really ready to fight… If Nate’s gonna jump on me I am ready to fight here.” but dos Anjos didn’t react. “I say congrats to your fight. Then he walked away.”

Nate Diaz (21-13) and Rafael dos Anjos (30-13) fought each other in 2014, where dos Anjos won comfortably. After this fight, dos Anjos went on to win the Lightweight gold against Anthony Pettis.
