Jose Aldo, Rob Font and Five Other Fighters Face up to Six Months Suspension After UFC Fight Night

UFC Vegas 44 concluded with Jose Aldo getting his hand raised over Rob Font. ‘Junior’ turned back the clock and put on an impressive display to extend his win streak to 3-0 at 135-pounds. With the win, Jose Aldo has now set himself up for a number one contender fight against TJ Dillashaw. In all likelihood, it will be next for the ‘King of Rio’. 

Out of the six fights on the main card, four ended in stoppages. In the co-main event, Rafael Fiziev secured a stunning third-round knockout win over Brad Riddell to extend his win streak to 5-0. 

Chris Curtis secured an impressive second-round knockout win over Brendan Allen. The bout took place in the UFC’s middleweight division. This was followed by an insane comeback win by long-time UFC veteran Clay Guida. After being dominated in the first round, ‘The Carpenter’ turned the tide and secured a submission win inside two minutes of round number two. Also, Jamahal Hill secured an insane finish in just 48 seconds against Jimmy Crute.

After a hard-fought night of fights, the athletic commission has handed out a suspension of close to half a year for seven fighters on the card. We take a look at the suspensions handed out to the fighters on the main card below.

UFC Vegas 44: Suspension length and details

Jose Aldo: Must receive clearance from ENT doctor for right orbital fracture or no contest until June 3. Minimum suspension contest until Jan. 4, no contact until Dec 26.

Rob Font: Must receive clearance from ENT doctor for left orbital and nasal fractures or no contest until June 3. Minimum suspension contest until Jan. 19, no contact until Jan. 4.

Rafael Fiziev: Suspended until Jan. 4, no contact until Dec. 26

Brad Riddell: Suspended until Feb. 3, no contact until Jan. 19 — laceration above left eyebrow.

Jamahal Hill: Must have an X-ray on his left elbow. If positive, must receive clearance from an orthopedic doctor or no contest until June 3. Minimum suspension no contest until Dec. 26, no contact until Dec. 19.

Jimmy Crute: Must receive clearance from ENT doctor for left orbital and nasal fractures or no contest until June 3. Minimum suspension contest until Feb. 3, no contact until Jan. 19.

Leonardo Santos: Suspended until Jan. 4, no contact until Dec. 26

Brendan Allen: Must have X-ray and MRI on the left hand. If positive, must receive clearance from an orthopedic doctor or no contest until June 3. Minimum suspension no contest until Jan. 19, no contact until Jan. 4

Mickey Gall: Suspended until Jan. 4, no contact until Dec. 26
