Popular mixed martial artist and former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor, once lost his teeth while fighting. The UFC star’s first outing against arch-nemesis, Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier, saw him win the fight but at a cost. The bout only lasted for a couple of minutes, allowing McGregor to secure KO win at UFC 178. A well-placed uppercut and a few combinations broke his tooth.

However, the mixed martial artist later on installed a brand new set of teeth in 2021. While most fans backed this move, there were some who critiqued him quite heavily. In the latest episode of the Joe Rogan Experience (#1821), the UFC icon shed light on this topic.

The show featured fellow comedians Tony Hinchcliffe & Bert Kreischer, who sparked the discussion. Kreischer revealed that all his teeth are fake, because of an injury that he sustained at age 11. Rogan quickly interjected, by suggesting Conor McGregor also went through the same procedure.

He even defended the martial artist’s decision to undergo the process in the face of fans’ criticism. He said,” Conor McGregor got new teeth, they are f***g so obvious, shiny, pearly white. And people were like, look at his teeth, they look ridiculous. And I am like, they look good, they’re new teeth. It’s just teeth, you know? It’s just a hard thing you chew food with. This obsession with getting the ones you are born with only seems a little odd.”

Among his naysayers also includes YouTuber turned professional boxer, Jake Paul, who has been repeatedly taking shots at him. In the lead-up to the fight with Tyron Woodley and in the infamous diss track for Dana White, he took aim at McGregor’s fake teeth.
