The main event at UFC 262 will feature a bout between Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira for the vacant lightweight belt. ‘Iron’ and ‘Do Bronx’ will fight for UFC gold for the first time in their respective careers.
Chandler has been a champion previously in another organization and has defended his belt multiple times. If he were to win the bout next weekend, he would join an elite list of fighters to have won belts in two of the biggest MMA promotions in the world – UFC and Bellator MMA.

However, it will be easier said than done as the man standing across the octagon from him is on an eight-fight win streak and has looked flawless in all of his victories.
Can Michael Chandler add another belt to his collection?
The UFC Twitter handle recently uploaded a teaser for their popular series ‘Countdown’ for the upcoming PPV event, UFC 262. The video showed Chandler and Oliveira engrossed in their training camps ahead of the lightweight collision.

In the video, Chandler states, “This is absolutely the greatest opportunity of my life, fighting for that vacant UFC title. Charles Oliveira is going to realize right away that he is locked into the octagon with a different animal.”
Oliveira said, “So he has a win in the UFC, I’m coming off eight consecutive wins. It’s my moment, it’s my time on may 15th.”

Oliveira is a wizard on the ground and has secured 63% of his wins via submission. ‘Do Bronx’ is most comfortable on the ground and will look to get the fight to the ground.
Chandler, however, is known for his knockout power. He has secured 45% of his wins via T/KO. His best chance of winning the fight will be to keep proceedings on a vertical base.

Given the clash of styles, it is all set to be an extremely interesting collision at the Toyota Center.
