Israel Adesanya is one of the biggest names in combat sports. The UFC middleweight champion has orchestrated his growth from an exciting prospect to one of the biggest names in the promotion. All the newfound fame that has come Adesanya’s way has opened doors for opportunities outside the octagon, for example, his deal with Puma

Another good example for the same would be the fact that ‘The Last Style Bender’ was given the opportunity to be a commentator for Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr. The undefeated star executed his role with panache and seemed like a natural behind the desk.

Israel Adesanya reveals why he is not considering boxing

In an interaction with ESNEWS, a reporter asked Adesanya was asked his thoughts on the rumors that Jorge Masvidal would face Canelo Alvarez. He said, “I feel like bro, you don’t have to keep doing this whole thing and go to boxing…. You’re coming into a fight and I’m not telling you that you can’t punch. So if you want the smoke, you gotta come to the cage.”

‘The Last Style Bender’ continued, “Cause you can’t tell me to go into a fight and then like alright you can’t question mark (kick) someone. F***ing do my thing. I want to make sure I use all my weapons so no one it telling you not to do what you’re good at. But I’m saying if you want the smoke, the octagon is where it is at.”

Adesanya is one of the most accomplished fighters in the sport. He entered the UFC octagon as a highly successful kickboxer with a record of 75-4. 

He entered the UFC in 2018, and in two years, became the champion of his weight class. In his rise to the top, ‘Izzy’ has displayed some of the most eye-catching techniques executed with near-perfection. The MMA community has showered his technique with praise.

He is an extremely technical fighter that uses all four limbs equally. Therefore is understandable as to why he is not the biggest fan of stepping into a boxing ring.
