UFC Vegas 21 has been an extremely interesting card thus far. Apart from the fight between Anders and Stewart, the card has had some extremely interesting fights. In the featherweight division, Dan ‘50k’ Ige took on Gavin Tucker in an extremely important fight for both men.
The 145-pound belt will be defended in two weeks, and although Max Holloway is in line for the next title shot, a win tonight for either man will put them in prime position for a number one contender fight.
Dan Ige proved to be too much for Tucker as he had a quick night in the office courtesy a 22-second knockout.

The fight started off with Gavin Tucker pressuring forwards. ‘50k’ came out light on his feet, moving around and trying to show his much-improved boxing.
The finishing sequence saw Ige dodge a punch coming his way and followed it up with a right hand that landed flush on Tucker’s chin. As soon as the punch landed, Tucker fell to the ground unconscious and Ige nonchalantly walked away.

Going into the fight, ‘Guv’Nor‘ was on a three-fight win streak, with impressive victories over the likes of Seung Woo Choi, Justin Jaynes, and Billy Quarantillo. A fourth straight win tonight would have ensured a top 15 rank for the Canadian fighter. However, he came up short against 9th ranked Dan Ige.

’50k’ was on a six-fight win streak before succumbing to a loss against Calvin Kattar in July last year. After the loss, Ige promised to bounce back impressively, and he did just that tonight. In the post-fight interview, he stated that he wanted to show off his boxing more, as he had made a lot of improvements in his boxing game.

In the post-fight interview, he stated that he would like to fight ‘The Korean Zombie’ next. Jung is currently ranked 5th in the division and lost his last fight against Brian Ortega therefore a matchup between the two men makes a lot of sense.
What did you make of Ige’s walk-off KO? Do you think he has earned a fight against ‘TKZ’?
