Jon Jones is very upset with the G.O.A.T. conversation going Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s way. While Khabib has a phenomenal 29-0 record, Jones has a similarly strong record. His only loss was a disqualification. Along with that, Jones has been in 15 title fights in his career, never losing in them.
Jones believes the title fight experience heavily tilts the argument in his favor, which is evident in this video.

“I’m talking to all you Khabib fans out there. 15 world titles to your guy’s 4. And you guys are really talking about who’s the best fighter ever? You guys are joking right? 15 to 4? Are you guys kidding me? The only person who can come back and challenge my record in the UFC is Georges St-Pierre. He’ll have to come back and win two championship fights to tie me. And I’m not even retired yet! I’m 33 years old. There’s a whole other chapter to go through. You guys are nuts, love you guys so much. 15 world championships to 4. And all you guys going with the ‘he’s more dominant argument’ just recently started fighting elite competition. Can you imagine me against the number tenth guy?”
Jon Jones rightfully upset at being disrespected?
While many will defend Khabib’s position as the G.O.A.T., Jones made a lot of good points. Jon Jones is virtually undefeated inside the cage and has been doing it at the UFC championship level for most of his career. However, the big differentiator between Khabib and him is how different both are outside the cage.

Outside the Conor incident after UFC 229, Khabib’s public record is pretty stellar. While 229 was a bad look for him, he has spent most of his time outside the cage giving back to his community in Dagestan and trying to be a positive role model. But Jon Jones is the opposite.
He has failed drug tests and had automobile accidents with pregnant women. He isn’t a saint outside the cage. But he is asking people to focus inside the cage. While going 29-0 and returning like that is impressive, how much does it mean if you didn’t spend most of your career in the fire of elite competition? Jones has done precisely that and is reiterating that fact.
