He said, “I’ve been doing this for me, for my family, and for my country. People ask me you wanna prove people wrong but it is actually about proving people right. In a country like Italy where the sport is not as developed compared to countries like the United States or Brazil, learning the skills required to compete at the highest level was an extremely difficult task for ‘The Italian Dream’. Vettori realized this early on in his career and moved to England to pursue his dream of becoming a UFC champion.

After a few years in England, Vettori moved across the Atlantic ocean to train at King’s MMA in California under the legendary Rafael Cordeiro. ‘The Italian Dream’ left behind his friends and family at a very early age to pursue this dream. The biggest fight of his career takes place this weekend and Vettori will be hoping to realize ‘The Italian Dream’ and bring gold back to Italy.
