Ever since he has come over to the UFC, Michael Chandler has been winning over the hearts of the UFC fans. His incredible performance along with his Ric Flair inspired post-fight interview has been a big hit among fans. 

Also, Chandler has carried himself extremely well and has shown nothing but the utmost respect to his peers in the company. ‘Iron’ has made it no secret that he would like to fight Dustin Poirier next. Chandler stated that there is no one in the company he respects more than ‘The Diamond’ and that it would be an honor to share the octagon with him.

In Interviews, Chandler has also mentioned that he and ‘The Diamond’ have an amicable relationship. This was on display on Chandler’s recent Instagram stories. The former Bellator was hosting a watch party for the Super Bowl and shared a clip of Dustin Poirier’s hot sauce on his kitchen top. He grabbed the bottle before going and dumping it in the dustbin. 

A few minutes later in another clip, ‘Iron’ went ahead and pulled the bottle out of the dustbin before slapping on a generous amount on a chicken wing. He went on to take a bite and stated that “It’s pretty good”

What is next for Michael Chandler?

After a stunning UFC debut, fans are eager to see more of ‘Iron’. In a recent interview, Chandler revealed that he was offered a fight for UFC 258 against an opponent he did not name. However, the fight did not materialize as his opponent did not accept the fight.

Although Chandler had a spectacular debut, it does not warrant a title shot right away. Therefore, if ‘Iron’ is able to secure another win, a title shot for him will be undeniable. However, at this point in time, the list of opponents to face Chandler is between Justin Gaethje and Charles Oliveira

Fans will be hoping that Chandler fights often in the octagon and is able to prove just why he was touted as one of the best lightweights in the world.
