UFC Lightweight veteran and perennial center of attention, Conor McGregor, is busy preparing for his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier. The headlining event scheduled for July 10th at UFC 264 has a lot at stake for both of them.
After the recent retirement of ‘The Eagle’ Khabib Nurmagomedov, ‘Diamond’ Poirier was a sure-shot contender for the coveted Lightweight strap.
However, he passed on that opportunity to face his eternal rival Conor McGregor to end their rivalry once and for all. McGregor too wants this fight so as to ensure that he owns the bragging rights as far as this trilogy is concerned.

Meanwhile, McGregor is also raising temperatures with his latest spree of rants on Twitter. Recently, McGregor took to Twitter and asked his followers to try out his gloves lining.
Many of them had their say on the tweet, but McGregor seemed to like one of them and retweeted him by tagging UFC and asking them to have a discussion on the deal.
Let’s talk, @ufc.

However, one user took a jab at UFC and said that promotion always wants a monopoly of gloves, and glove designers like Trevor Wittman never get themselves tied to one organization.
McGregor replied to him in his own style, where he took a jibe at Wittman and said, “You need guys with real experience. Case in point the king of this shit. Me. And Fuck other organisations. I’m with the UFC.”
But Trevor wittman has never fought MMA tho?

‘The Notorious’ one has lately been aggressive on social media platforms. In his recent tweet, he had asked Poirier to search for another opponent as he was looking to call their fight off. However, Dana White subsequently cleared all clouds of confusion when he confirmed the fight was still on.
Recent form of Conor McGregor in the Octagon
McGregor (22-5) has not been at his menacing best lately. He has won and lost 3 fights apiece in his last 6 fights. One of those losses recently came at the hands of Dustin Poirier, when the latter recorded a 2nd-round TKO victory at UFC 257 early this year.
Prior to that, he fought against Donald Cerrone in a Welterweight bout at UFC 246. He won that fight via TKO 40 seconds into the 1st round.
