Is Khabib Nurmagomedov retired?
Soon after his emphatic win over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 last month, Nurmagomedov announced his retirement from the sport. ‘The Eagle’ stated that he can no longer step inside the Octagon without his father by his side. He added that he will respect his words given to his mother.

However, there’s a reason to believe that Nurmagomedov might make a return to the UFC in near future. Earlier, White had stated that ‘The Eagle’ will remain the UFC’s lightweight champion despite announcing his retirement from the sport.
The UFC President shared his thoughts on the entire situation. He believes Nurmagomedov will make a return to finish with 30-0 as it was his father’s dream.

White said, “He’s considering the 30-0. His father wanted it, and I think that he was super-emotional. (He) had the mumps, measles or whatever, broken toe, trained on a stationary bike for that fight, and then came in and fought, and he was super-emotional.”
Only time will tell what lies ahead for the UFC’s pound-for-pound best. There’s hardly anything left to prove for the undisputed lightweight champion. With notable victories over the likes of Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, and Justin Gaethje, Nurmagomedov has already cemented himself as arguably the greatest of all time.
