UFC Heavyweight Derrick Lewis will be in the main event against Curtis Blaydes this weekend. ‘The Black Beast’ has always been known for his hard-hitting power and has 19 knockouts in his professional MMA career.

Former champion Daniel Cormier said in a recent interview with ESPN, “Derrick punched me one time with his leg up in the air with a hammer fist, my eye was like black for like three-four days. It was insane, I couldn’t see out of it because he’s that powerful. He hits harder than any human being I’ve ever been hit by.”

‘The Black Beast’ is currently on a three-fight win streak in the division. Ahead of this week’s main event, we look at all of Lewis’ greatest KO’s in the UFC.

Jack May via 1st Round TKO

Lewis was scheduled to make his UFC debut against Nandor Guelmino at UFC Fight Night: Condit vs. Kampmann 2 in 2013. However, the fight had to be canceled as Lewis had to pull out due to an injury.

Instead, Lewis made his debut at UFC on Fox: Werdum vs. Browne on April 19, 2014, against Jack May. He won via TKO in the first round.

Guto Inocente via 1st Round KO

In his second fight for the promotion, Lewis faced Guto Inocente at The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale on July 6, 2014. He won the fight via KO in the first round after getting his opponent to the ground and landing some heavy ground and pound.

Ruan Potts via 2nd Round TKO

Having gone 2-0 in the UFC, ‘The Black Beast’ would experience his first loss in the promotion against Matt Mitrione. Lewis would then face Ruan Potts on February 28, 2015, at UFC 184. He would get back to winning ways having won the fight via TKO in the second round.

Viktor Pesta via 3rd Round TKO

Lewis would then face another loss, this time to Shawn Jordan. Following the loss, the UFC booked Lewis against Anthony Hamilton at UFC 192.

However, Hamilton was forced out of the fight due to an injury and replaced by Viktor Pešta. Lewis would end up mounting Pešta and finishing him with a barrage of punches in the third round.

Damian Grabowski via 1st Round TKO

‘The Black Beast’ would then be matched up against Poland’s Damian Grabowski on February 6, 2016, at UFC Fight Night 82. Lewis came into the fight with the fifth shortest fight time in the history of the UFC Heavyweight division.

As expected, Derrick dominated the fight, winning via TKO in the first round.

Gabriel Gonzaga via 1st Round KO

Lewis next faced UFC legend, Gabriel Gonzaga, in 2016, at UFC Fight Night 86. Gonzaga kept most of the fight pressed against the cage, even taking Lewis down.

However, Lewis would get back to his feet and finish the fight via KO in the first round earning his first Performance of the Night bonus.

Shamil Abdurakhimov via 4th Round TKO

Lewis was expected to face Marcin Tybura at UFC Fight Night 97. However, the promotion announced on October 6 that they had canceled the event entirely.

Lewis was booked to face Shamil Abdurakhimov in the main event at UFC Fight Night 102. After losing the first three rounds, Lewis would finish the fight by TKO in the fourth round.

Travis Browne via 2nd Round KO

Lewis faced Travis Browne in February 2017 in the main event at UFC Fight Night 105. It was a close first round between the two with Browne landing some heavy body shots.

However, Lewis would catch Browne with a huge left hook and ultimately win the fight via KO in the second round. Lewis and Browne were awarded Fight of the Night for their performance.

Marcin Tybura via 3rd Round KO

Following his loss to Mark Hunt, during his post-fight interview, Lewis announced that he was likely retiring from mixed martial arts. A month later, Lewis revealed that he had decided to continue fighting.

Lewis would face Marcin Tybura on February 18, 2018, at UFC Fight Night 126. The win earned ‘The Black Beast’ the Performance of the Night bonus.

Alexander Volkov via 3rd Round KO

At UFC 226, Derrick Lewis and Francis Ngannou fought out a lackluster bout that disappointed many. Lewis ultimately won the fight via unanimous decision although both fighters seemed gun shy.

He would then face Alexander Volkov at UFC 229. ‘The Black Beast’ was down on the scorecards and visibly hurt multiple times.

However, Lewis knocked Volkov down and finished the fight in the dying seconds of the fight. This win earned him the Performance of the Night award.
