Diego Sanchez has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. The Ultimate Fighter winner was recently let go from the UFC through no fault of his own. Sanchez’s long-time associate and trainer, Joshua Fabia, was involved in a splat with the UFC, which ultimately led to Sanchez being pulled out of his fight against Donald Cerrone. Subsequently, the promotion released him.

A lot of personalities in the MMA community, including Dana White, voiced their concern for ‘The Nightmare’. The whole situation became something fans joked over in the past few weeks. Sanchez has since stated that he has cut ties with Fabia.

How realistic is Conor McGregor’s latest idea involving Diego Sanchez?

‘The Notorious’ recently put out a tweet with a rather interesting idea. He said, “Sanchez vs Fabia. McGregor Sports and Entertainment.” Although McGregor is most likely joking, the possibility of that fight taking place is not absurd as Sanchez, who is a free agent, can participate in events that fancy him.

McGregor Sports and Entertainment has never put up an event on their own. However, they have been a part of some of the biggest events in history, most notably Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor.

Fabia had a spat with the UFC brass on Fight Island. He recently released a clip of his conversation with Hunter Campbell, which was not well received by the UFC. Furthermore, he demanded the medical records of his fighter. This resulted in the dispute which saw ‘The Nightmare’ get his marching orders.

Given that Fabia is now out of the picture, the UFC may just allow Sanchez to come back for one last fight.
