The Ultimate Fighter has always been an extremely beneficial show for the UFC. It perfectly blends drama along with MMA which is a combination that has worked well. Not only did The Ultimate Fighter introduce a wider range of audiences to the UFC, but it also served as a platform to launch some of the biggest names in the sport who went to become world champions. On June 1st, Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega welcome back the show after a 2-year hiatus.
Brian Ortega was never a part of The Ultimate Fighter and neither was Volkanovski. Therefore, the experience was completely new to both men.
While speaking about his experience on The Ultimate Fighter, Ortega said, “My biggest thoughts are how am I going to be a coach who understands every single one of my fighters and be able to motivate them? I’ll probably be picking my team not off skill, but off who they are as a person.”

‘T-City’ continued, “If you’re dedicated and a hardworking person, I’m going to pick you over a natural athlete who f**ks around too much. I want people who are here to want to win, to be serious. If you’re here to mess around and to get some fights and get a contract that way, that’s a language I really don’t speak”

In his recent appearance on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience,’ the featherweight champion suggested they are likely to square off in September. This will be Volkanovski’s second title defense, and this will be the second title shot in the UFC’s featherweight division for Brian Ortega. ‘T-City’ will aim to get the job done this time around after previously falling short against Max Holloway.
