Yoel Romero is one of the scariest fighters to have stepped foot into the UFC octagon. The Cuban is a physical specimen and is built like a truck. He has devastating knockout power in both hands and possesses freakish athleticism for someone who is 43. Fighting ‘The Soldier Of God’ is not for the faint-hearted and getting a win over him is an accomplishment in itself.
Over the course of his career with the UFC, the Olympic silver medallist has stunned fans with brilliant performances. Most notably, in his wars against Robert Whittaker for the belt where he, unfortunately, came up short.
The fighter walks away from the promotion as one of the greatest in UFC history never to win a title.

Yoel Romero parts ways with the UFC after 7 years
News recently broke out that Yoel Romero and the UFC had decided to part ways. While speaking to ESPN, his manager Malki Kawa addressed the situation saying, “While we didn’t expect Romero’s time in the UFC to end like this. We are grateful for the opportunities [UFC president] Dana White, [general counsel] Hunter Campbell and [matchmaker] Mick Maynard gave him over the years. He’s ready to move on now and resume his career, and we are already talking to other promotions as we speak.”
‘The Soldier of God’ made his UFC debut in 2013 with a win over Clifford Starks via KO. He went on to win his next seven fights in a row by beating the likes of Chris Weidman, Ronaldo Souza, and Derek Brunson among others.
He has secured a mind-boggling 85% of his victories via T/KO. Which explains why he is one of the most loved fighters on the UFC roster.
