How will Colby Covington fare against Kamaru Usman in a rematch?
Colby Covington gave Kamaru Usman arguably his toughest test to date in the UFC. The former interim welterweight champion faced ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ when the two men battled for five rounds at UFC 245 in December 2019. Since then, a lot has changed for the two men involved in the main event.
‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has stayed extremely active since his fight against Covington, fighting three times. ‘Chaos’, on the other hand, has competed just once, securing a stoppage win over former champion Tyron Woodley.

Going into the fight this time around, both men will have different coaches in their corner. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ is now under the tutelage of Trevor Wittman. Whereas, Covington is under the tutelage of Cesar Carneiro and Daniel Valverde. Therefore, it will be interesting to see what changes both men make going into the rematch, considering the first fight was so close.
The UFC has had an event at ‘MSG’ every year since the sport was legalized in the state. To mark its return after a year’s absence, the promotion has put together a stacked card. Michael Chandler vs Justin Gaethje and Luke Rockhold vs Sean Strickland are a few fights fans will be salivating over.
