UFC 268 is turning out to be a cracker of a fight card. Ever since MMA was given the green signal, the promotion has more often than not had its November PPV card at Madison Square Garden. The UFC is planning to host the UFC 268 card at Madison Square Garden. However, given the circumstances we are in at the moment, the venue has not been confirmed yet.

It was recently announced that the much-anticipated welterweight title fight between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington would headline the potential Madison Square Garden event. Now, recent reports suggest that a blockbuster fight between two of the most exciting lightweights in Michael Chandler and Justin Gaethje will be added to the card. UFC 268 is already shaping out to be an epic card and November cannot come soon enough.

UFC 268 is shaping up to be an epic card for the UFC’s return to Madison Square Garden

Michael Chandler and Justin Gaethje are two of the most violent and entertaining fighters, not only in the lightweight division, but in the UFC period. Given how the landscape in the lightweight division has shaped up, it made sense for the UFC to match Gaethje against Chandler.

Chandler recently said in an Instagram live that he had been gunning for this fight for a while but Gaethje never accepted. ‘The Highlight’ fired back on Twitter. Both Gaethje and his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, were not particularly interested in a fight against Chandler. At one point, it seemed as though the fight would not materialize at all.

However, to the relief and joy of the MMA community, we will be getting to see a fight between Gaethje and Chandler. Both men go into the fight on the back losses in a title fight in their respective previous outings. Considering that, they will be aiming to get back into the win column as soon as possible to build their way back up to a title fight against the winner of Charles Oliveira vs Dustin Poirier.
