Nate Diaz is hopefully making his massive return to the UFC in 2021. While it looked like Nate was going to have an active schedule after he returned in 2019, he has been missing ever since his loss to Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244. But he has been teasing a return to the octagon for a while now, with the UFC even revealing a possible return to 155 pounds for Nate.
However, Diaz put out a tweet splashing water on his return to 155. A man he was linked with after his Lightweight return was announced was Tony Ferguson. While the UFC hushed talk on that fight down, the fans were quite enamored by it. It seems Ferguson is as well, calling out Diaz by replying to his tweet.
All You Do Is Bitch Out. You Don’t Want No Squabbles From A Real Fighter. 170lbs or 155lbs… SitDown & STFU Casual. 🖕🥷 -CSO- 🇺🇸🏆🇲🇽 pic.twitter.com/rWtipz07HI

Tony Ferguson is on a two-fight losing streak right now, with Justin Gaethje and Charles Oliveira triumphing over him. Nate Diaz has fought only twice since 2016, beating Anthony Pettis in his return and then losing to Jorge Masvidal. A fight between the pair would be a lot of fun for the fans and could even make sense, but the UFC didn’t seem very keen on it.

Nate Diaz: Should he take the Tony Ferguson challenge?
Nate Diaz has fought a lot of elite talent in his career. However, Tony Ferguson and he have never fought despite being in the same division for years. With Ferguson looking a little lost in the Lightweight title picture, this would be the perfect time for him to pursue a money-fight against a certified draw in Diaz.
However, the risk here may be for Nate. He hasn’t been fighting regularly, and the challenge of facing Tony may just be one he shouldn’t take in his return fight. However, these two will guarantee one of the most entertaining fights of the year.

Both men are expert submission artists that love to stand and bang. Their styles mesh together well. The only question is whether this will even happen, because the fans are pumped and ready for something like this.
