ONE Heavyweight World Champion “Singh” Arjan Bhullar was adamant in his response to Conor McGregor’s latest tweet about the evolving Indian mixed martial arts scene.
McGregor, a former two-division MMA World Champion, shared on his official Twitter account earlier today that he firmly believes Indian MMA athletes will start seeing the success they deserve in the near future.
“Rooting for the Indians to make a stamp in this game soon! Quite very possibly the most respectful and caring nationality I’ve ever met in my life, the Indians. Let’s go India,” McGregor tweeted.

Though Bhullar appreciated McGregor’s view on India as a whole, he responded to the Irishman’s tweet to remind him that Indians have been on the mixed martial arts map for quite some time.
“I’m here, the stamp BEEN made. Come thru AKA and we’ll have a chat about it after one of the grappling sessions, go for a meal after. That Golden Temple in Amritsar are my ppl #Sikh fyi. We aren’t the doctors we the warrior bloodline from the north,” the heavyweight king tweeted.

The tweet clearly showed that the Indian star wasn’t playing around. The 34-year-old is extremely proud of becoming India’s first Mixed Martial Arts World Champion.
How did Arjan Bhullar become India’s first-ever MMA World Champion?
“Singh” won the golden strap earlier this year with a highlight-reel knockout of longtime ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera. Despite being the underdog in the contest, Bhullar showed the Filipino-American that he was going to be his toughest assignment yet.

Bhullar started the slower of the pair but fended off Vera’s early onslaught with his volume and power of strikes. His head movement also forced “The Truth” to miss a lot of shots, and that in turn, left Vera gasping for air from the start of the second stanza.
Then, with two minutes left in the second frame, “Singh” ducked under a left hook and planted Vera on the canvas. From there, the mighty Indian pounded away with relentless right hands. Vera did attempt to get back on his feet, but Bhullar dumped him back down and continued his onslaught.

The referee eventually stepped in to save Vera, and Bhullar became India’s first-ever MMA World Champion.
