Anderson “Braddock” Silva has something to prove against Paul “King of the North” Elliott at ONE: ONLY THE BRAVE this Friday, 28 January.

After coming out short against compatriot Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida in his previous outing, the Sao Paulo native is confident that he made the necessary adjustments to leave Singapore Indoor Stadium with a win.

“The opportunity to return to MMA appeared, and I’m not one to run away from a challenge,” he pointed out.

“We knew the fight was all or nothing. If I hit a blow, it would be over fast, and if he puts me down, it would be over too.”

Anderson Silva on his next fight against Paul Elliott

Silva took the fight against the multiple-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion on short notice and admitted that he might not have been fully prepared to face an elite grappler.

Now that he has undergone an entire training camp, the kickboxing veteran who boasts a 74-fight resume is eager to show that he can collide with the best MMA stars in the promotion.

“It’s going to be a beautiful fight to watch,” Silva offered.

“Braddock” has done his research on his 29-year-old rival and concludes that the Middlesbrough native has nothing within his arsenal that can surprise him.

The Englishman is a kickboxer like Silva, so the Brazilian expects a stand-up battle more than anything.

“He’s newer to MMA, as I am too. He seems strong, but I don’t see much skill in takedowns and jiu-jitsu. So, I don’t believe he’s going to surprise me,” the New Level Academy and TFT standout offered.

“We both do grappling to defend and not to attack. That’s why I believe the whole fight will take place standing up.”

‘Braddock’ claims he is ready for everything that comes his way at ONE: ONLY THE BRAVE

Despite his faith that the match will be mainly a striking battle, the Brazilian striking dynamo has focused on other aspects of his game in case he ends up in unfamiliar territory.

After all, “Braddock” is keen to prove that he can flourish in MMA, and winning against the Akurei MMA Academy star will be an ideal way for him to put his most recent setback behind.

“Now that I’ve had a complete camp, I feel well-prepared to defend the takedown attempts and to attack according to our strategy,” he said.

“I will be a totally different fighter than the fight against ‘Buchecha.'”
