From launching their own OTT platform, mobile app, and content studio to securing broadcast partnerships in big markets like India and Russia as part of an aggressive global expansion effort, to bringing in top media executive Loren Mack to head their corporate communications department, the PFL is building up enough momentum to make a big comeback in 2020.

But while broadcast partnerships and content production are indeed important parts of the PFL’s growth, the fighters are the heart and soul of the league, and according to CEO Peter Murray, bringing in even more big-name stars and top-tier talent is a priority for 2021.

Currently, the PFL is home to some of the best fighters from 25 different countries, including reigning league champions such as Lance Palmer, Kayla Harrison, Ray Cooper III, and Natan Schulte, as well veterans such as Rory McDonald, and many others.

Recently, the PFL added even more talent from countries such as Brazil, Norway, Germany, and South Korea.

These MMA stars will help in fueling a league that features a unique regular season tournament-style format that other organizations don’t have.

It’s this format partnered with global reach and top-notch production value that will help catapult the PFL – fastest-rising MMA organization in the world – to the top, alongside industry leaders such as the UFC.

Our role in MMA is to reimagine and reinvent the sport — smart data, storytelling. Now, number two in the world,” said Murray. “The UFC is the leader in the sport. They’ve done the heavy lifting. They’ve been doing it for 25 years.”

The similarities are: we have a global reach, and in production value, the PFL is the best. We are second to none”, he added.
