Famous YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul is hogging the limelight wherever he is going. Paul recently beat former mixed martial artist and MMA veteran Ben Askren via KO in the first round.

He has been targeting MMA fighters with trash talk for a while, but his intensity has increased after his last win. UFC president Dana White had some words for the boxer in the post-match presentation after UFC 261.

In the interview, White showed his frustration with being asked about Paul. He was asked about his take on Paul, to which he said, “I have said before and say it again, this kid (Paul) has done a great job of putting himself in a place to make some money you know.. so good for him.”

He talked about Daniel Cormier’s confrontation with Paul too.

“Daniel Cormier running after him, so he is doing something right, you know.”

Cormier and Paul have been at social media loggerheads ever since Jake Paul won over Askren. Paul and Cormier have even thrown challenges for the fight on each other.

White even took a dig at Paul saying, “He knocked out an NBA guy that was 40 years old and 30 pounds less than him….I don’t even know what to think about the Askren thing…the whole thing is f*****g mind-boggling to me but good for him.”

White indirectly hinted at Paul for earning easy money by hand-picking opponents. He concluded by saying, “Grab that money while you can kid.”

Boxing journey of Jake Paul till now

Paul entered the world of boxing in 2018. He and his brother, Logan, fought KSI and his younger brother, Deji, in two amateur white-collar matches, respectively. KSI and Logan Paul headlined the card with Jake fighting with Deji in the chief undercard bout. Jake won the fight via TKO in the fifth round.

Jake entered professional boxing career in January 2020 against fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib. It was a co-feature match headlined by Demetrius Andrade and Luke Keeler. He won that fight via TKO in the middle stages of the first round.

Paul next faced professional basketball player Nate Robinson in late November last year. He ended up defeating Robinson via KO in the second round.

The YouTuber’s first real challenge came against Ben Askren on April 17 this year. Askren is a former Bellator and ONE Championship welterweight champion. After a huge buildup prior to fighting, where either party traded blows over social media, the match had an anti-climatic end. Paul defeated Askren via KO in the first round.
