Bellator’s July 24th event titled Bellator 242 will feature a Bantamweight main event. Here Sergio Pettis will take on Ricky Bandejas. The co main-event at Welterweight will witness Jason Jackson fighting Jordan Mein.

Also on the main card are Tywan Claxton, Jay Jay Wilson, Aaron Pico, and Chris Hatley Jr. These 4 fights along with three pre-card clashes will emanate from the Mohegan Sun Arena.

Bellator plans for massive events for the summer

However, that’s not all that the company has in store. As per a Tweet by Telegraph Sport’s Gareth A Davies, “Bellator President (Scott Coker) tells me that (Mohegan Sun) will host four (Bellator MMA) events July 24, Aug 7, Aug 14, Sept 11. There for the foreseeable future. Events going forward cd include Ryan Bader and (Cris Cyborg) in title fights. Still in planning. (Bellator Europe)

The promotion will maintain their base of operations in the same arena for events on 7th and 14th August as well as the 11th of September. This is in line with the UFC who has held a slew of events at a single location.

As per Combate, via BJPENN.COM, the latter of these events on September 11 sees former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida fight Phil Davis. This certainly means that as per Davies’ tweet fans can expect to see the company’s maiden two-division champion Ryan Bader in action in August. Furthermore, a card featuring Bellator Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg too is in the works.

Bellator MMA’s final event before the stoppage took place in Europe in February. It featured the main event where Brent Primus submitted Chris Bungard via rear-naked choke submission. Scott Coker wasn’t big on the idea of Fight Island and opted to bide his time rather than return in the spring itself.

What do you make of the Bellator MMA cards that have been set in stone? Also, what is your opinion on the company’s plans for August as well as the international events?
