Mookie Betts' ghost fear—Does this make him more relatable or just an easy target for trolls?

MLB superstar Mookie Betts has opened up about his personal fears, particularly his unease with ghosts. The Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder, known for his prowess on the field and his unyielding confidence, has shed light on a side of himself rarely seen by fans: his genuine fear of the supernatural. Recently, the star’s choice of not staying in a “haunted” hotel in Milwaukee went viral. So naturally, the fans began making fun of Betts and he has taken notice of it.

Betts has become a target of online trolls who mocked him for his admitted fear of ghosts. So in a recent conversation with ‘Big Dumper,’ Cal Raleigh, Betts revealed why the thought of ghosts unsettles him. The answer is quite simple. However, it shows how Betts’  fear comes from the lack of rules attached to the paranormal beings.

Mookie Betts on his new show On Base With Mookie Betts revealed to star guest Cal Raleigh as to why he is so terrified of ghosts.  “If I was to ever find out there was a ghost that was in the room or whatever, I would absolutely loose my mind, and for the rest of my life I would be scarred,” Betts told Cal.  As is known, Betts has spent a night in the Pfister Hotel once. The superstar has already revealed how he couldn’t sleep during his stay there. Though, he hasn’t seen any ghosts, Betts doesn’t really want to wait till he does.

“Because I feel like that ghost is not confined to this room,” Betts said. “He can go wherever I’m going and so I don’t know them they don’t know me and I don’t know if we can develop a relationship or anything so you know what just stay over there,” Betts finished. Clearly the superstar has some valid reasons for his fears. At least, that’s what Raleigh felt who too shared his own paranormal experiences. Raleigh revealed that he grew up in a haunted house but the spirit there was benevolent.

Agreeing with Raleigh, Betts claimed that even one bad encounter can make all ghosts seem bad. This is not the first time the player has opened up about his fear. On the contrary, Betts has more than once declined to stay in the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. Although at the time he did not believe in ghosts and had stayed at the hotel premises once, he couldn’t sleep out of paranoia.
