Baseball fans are getting ready for the MLB Opening Day, which will begin on April 7th, 2022. Los Angeles Angels’ Shohei Ohtani is gearing up for a better performance than the MLB 2021 season. Baseball pundits are divided between the 2021 MLB American League MVP.

Despite having a strong team on paper, the Los Angeles Angels ended 4th in the American League West Division. The Angels won 77 games while losing 85 games in the MLB 2021 season and hence ended up missing their playoffs opportunity.

Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout will be the center of attraction for the Angels fans after a successful last season for both of them. There has been a sudden increase in the Shohei Ohtani fanbase, especially after the magical 2021 season. The Angels started their Spring training a few days back, and the focus was on the 27-year-old Japanese.

Spring Training

Shohei Ohtani took batting training on Monday, March 14th, 2022, and practice pitching on March 15th, 2022. When asked about his health and his vision for the upcoming MLB 2022 season, Ohtani responded via his interpreter afterward.

“I feel like I can’t be doing the same thing as last year and have the same stats as last year. I need to get better and keep on improving. Skills-wise, there’s room for improvement. Physically, I already feel stronger than last year, so that’s a good start,” said Ohtani via his interpreter.

The 2022 schedule of the Los Angeles Angels is out. The Angels will face the Houston Astros at the home opener on Thursday, April 7th, 2022, at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim, California, USA.

In the MLB 2021 season, Shohei Ohtani ranked 3rd in the ‘Most Home Runs Scored’ category, with 46 home runs to his name. Salvador Perez of the Kansas City Royals tied the category along with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays with 48 home runs.
