The legendary Miguel Cabrera is bidding farewell to baseball. With an undoubtedly Hall of Fame-worthy career, Miggy is in his last MLB season before he retires. The Venezuelan player’s farewell tour has been full of sweet moments with fans and teammates, as well as rival and former teams. In his glory days, Cabrera was a fearsome hitter known for the power he put behind every at-bat. Starting out with the Florida Marlins (now Miami Marlins), the 40-year-old has been a fixture with the Detroit Tigers since 2007.
As time has caught up with him, Cabrera’s performance has dwindled lately. But there is another Venezuelan player ready to take on the mantle, just with the Atlanta Braves. Miggy respects him nonetheless and recently gifted him a special jersey.

Cabrera and Acu?a’s first interaction of the year was at the World Baseball Classic in March. Both players shone for their country and gave stellar performances. Acu?a and the Yankees’ Gleyber Torres even learned a few tips and tricks from the legend. While they may wear different uniforms during the regular season, the Venezuelan countrymen still hold the pride of their soil.
