Alex Rodriguez met John Cena at Wrestle Mania 28

In 2012, A-Rod got the chance to meet his wrestling idol John Cena at WrestleMania 28. Rodriguez had gone to watch WrestleMania with his then-girlfriend and former WWE Diva, Torrie Wilson. A-Rod reportedly got a VIP backstage visit before settling into his ringside seats for the big event. He was then surprised before the main event match between The Rock and John Cena.

Cena took a few minutes to interact with A-Rod and Wilson before proceeding to the ring. This gesture from the wrestling legend left A-Rod smiling from excitement at meeting a person he idolizes.

Rodriguez may be one of the greatest baseball players of all time, but even he has his fanboy moments. This meeting with John Cena at WrestleMania was one of them. At the time, Rodriguez was still with the New York Yankees and was still a big-name in the world of baseball.

When did A-Rod retire from baseball?

In 2016, Alex Rodriguez retired amidst a dwindling role and an inability to play at the highest level anymore. He played his final game on August 12th against the Tampa Bay Rays at Yankee Stadium. He ended his career as one of baseball’s greatest players.
